Objective

You are aware of the individual and special needs of children and the youth.
You can support individual growth and learning abilities of each child.
You know the service system of special education from early childhood education up to secondary school education.
You can define basic concepts and describe professional practices related with special education.
You can utilizise family-centred orientation as part of supporting children.
You know essential methods of special education.

Content

What kind of special needs can children and young people have?
How can we support growth and learning abilities of children and young people?
What is the service system of special education like and how law and norms do guide special education?
What are the basic concepts of special education?
How is family-centered orientation taken into account within practices of special education?
What kind of methods are used among special education?

Evaluation

a. You can use professional vocabulary systematically.

b. You can look for information in the key information sources of the field.

c. You can identify interrelated tasks.

d. You can work together with customers, users and target groups in the field of special education

g. You can justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Assessment methods and criteria

Opintojaksolla numeerinen arviointi. Osa tehtävistä arvioidaan hyväksytty / hylätty.
Arvioinnin kriteereinä toimivat oppimistehtävien ohjeistukset.
a. Osaat käyttää johdonmukaisesti ammattikäsitteitä.
b. Osaat etsiä tietoa alan keskeisistä tiedonlähteistä.
c. Osaat hahmottaa tehtäväkokonaisuuksia.
d. Osaat toimia asiakkaiden, käyttäjien, kohderyhmien kanssa.
e. Osaat käyttää keskeisiä oman alan malleja, menetelmiä, ohjelmistoja ja tekniikoita.
f. Osaat toimia tiimin jäsenenä tavoitteellisesti.
g. Osaat perustella toimintaasi oman alan eettisten periaatteiden mukaisesti.
