Leadership (5 cr)

Objective

You are able to evaluate your own personal and professional development over a period of time.
You can evaluate your own leadership strengths and development points and direct your development with reference to the role of a supervisor.
You are able to develop and coach individuals in the work community.
You are able to utilize the diverse resources of a multi-professional team in your management.

Content

What is self-management and how do you implement it?
How do you develop and coach a team?
What is performance management and how is it conducted?
How do you lead a multidisciplinary team?

Evaluation

Based on Xamk's assessment criteria a-g describing competence, students can:

a. find, study, produce and assess critically multidisciplinary data in their field of expertise.
b. solve demanding problems in research, development and innovation activities.
d. be responsible for operations and develop them independently.
e. assess different strategic approaches and justify their use in terms of management and development.

Study forms and methods

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Opetus toteutetaan samanaikaisesti kahdella paikkakunnalla (Kotkassa ja Mikkelissä).
Toimipisteiden väillä on videoyhteys. Opettaja on vaihdelle Mikkelissä ja Kotkassa.
Siinä toimipisteessä missä opettaja ei ole läsnä, paikalla on opiskelija-assistentti.
Lähipäivät ovat seuraavina päivinä:
- la 12.1.2019 9:00 – 16:15
- ke 23.1.2019 16:00 – 19:15
- la 2.2.2019 9:00 – 16:15
- ke 13.2.2019 16:00 – 19:15
Lisäksi opintojaksoon liittyy runsaasti esi- ja kotitehtäviä.
Opintojaksolla käytettävä opiskelumateriaali ja arviointiperusteet ilmoitetaan opiskelijoille
viimeistään ensimmäisen lähipäivän aikana.

Opintojakso arvioidaan normaalin arviointiasteikon mukaisesti (hyväksytyt arvosanat 1 - 5, hylätty 0)
