Objective

You know the origins and ways of prevention of crime. You show your know-how in the Finnish criminal sanctions system and you are able to describe the main characteristics of criminal procedure. You are able to reflect your relationship with the clients with criminal background and you have abilities to work with them. You know the work methods influencing recidivism. You have competence in guidance and rehabilitative work with clients and their relatives.

Content

What are common theories explaining crimes? What is meant by crime prevention policy? What is the Finnish criminal sanctions system like? What is included in the rehabilitation work of penal institutions? What are the principles, forms and functions of community sanction work? How are the principles of citizen-oriented work fulfilled in criminal work?
