Objective

3 credit points:
- Understanding the importance of theory and evidence-based information in surgical patients’ interoperative care
- Knowing the appropriate procedures required to ensure patient safety in surgical patients’ interoperative care
- Understanding the instrumental and monitoring nurse tasks, as well as understanding how to operate as a member of the surgical team in an operating theater.

5 credit points:
- Ability to utilise theories and evidence-based information in surgical patients’ interoperative care
- Mastery of patient safety practices required during surgical patients’ interoperative care
- Ability to operate as the instrumental and monitoring nurse in operating theatre
- Ability to describe surgical stages of general surgery, gastroenterologic, gynecologic or orthopedic surgery from the instrumental nurse’s perspective

Completion of 5-credit point course permits surgical work during the internship.
