Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- evaluation of navigational information derived from ARPA, in order to make and implement command decisions for collision avoidance and for directing the safe navigation of the ship
- fundamentals of radars and ARPA equipment performance, limitations, errors, operation and use of ARPA
Content
- fundamentals of radar technology
- ARPA features, performance and requirements
- ability to operate, interpret and analyse information from radar incl. measuring techniques, -errors and plotting
- simulation exercises and demonstrating competence in the simulator
The content is based on IMO model courses 1.07 and 1.08.

Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. Study of radar theory. The use of the radar on the ship simulator.

Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.

Further information
Completion of the course requires 100% participation in the teaching in class and 100% participation of the simulator training.
